Missions

The Haiti Partnership Ministry involves a partnership with Westminster Presbyterian Church (WPC) and the Free Methodist Mission (FMM) of Haiti, under the leadership of the Haitian area pastors. The ministry focuses on the area of Terre Blanche, the northern part of the island where there is no electricity, potable water, or modern facilities.

Several members of the WPC Haiti leadership team have traveled to this area for more than 20 years. Our prayer is that other churches will join the Lord in His work in Haiti, remembering God has commanded us to "make disciples of all nations" and has given us the power, through his Holy Spirit, to witness of Him locally, in Haiti, and to the "ends of the earth." (Matthew 28:18-20, Acts. 1:8)

Living Waters provides training and materials to empower churches and other organizations to bring clean water to people where water supplies are polluted. Living Waters has installed clean water systems in more than 200 sites around the world, from Belize to Thailand to Venezuala.

Medika Mamba is an outreach of Meds & Foods for Kids (MFK), an organizatin working to cure child malnutrition in Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. MFK's product, Medika Mamba ("peanut butter medicine" in Haitian Creole), is an energy-dense peanut butter fortified with protein and nutrients. It requires no cooking, does not spoil, and returns children to healthy in a matter of weeks, which means they reach normal weight and height proportions; grow thicker, black hair; have energy; and their eyes are bright and clear. This peanut butter medicine is also produced in Haiti and provides jobs to that population.

The Navigators lead Christ's followers to a deeper relationship with the Savior through small-group studies and one-to-one discipleship programs. It aims to equip, through discipleship, Christians to lead individuals to a saving knowledge of Jesus and train new believers, in turn, to reach others.

Westminster supports Sandi Eckert's work with Navigators. Sandy and her team help care for Navigator missionaries by screening new applicants; caring for emotional, physical, and spiritual needs; and coaching tired and wounded workers through a sabbatical rest.

To be healthy, wealthy, and wise - isn't that the great American wish? For many who come to the Union Gospel Mission, their health is poor, their wealth is bankrupt, and they are well aware of their lack of wisdom in past decisions.

The Yakima Union Gospel Mission reaches the lost for Jesus by developing relationships with the poor and helping with their practical needs, including clothing, meals, lodging, and health care.
