What is an elder?
In the Presbyterian church, elders are chosen by the people to exercise leadership in the life of the church and the denomination. Together with the pastor, they encourage the people in the worship and service of God. Elders are elected and ordained for life, but a small group actively serve in the church's governing body, the Session.

What is a deacon?
Deacon is a term that comes from scripture - it is derived from a Greek verb that means "to serve." Our deacons are elected from the congregation for a ministry of sympathk, care, and encouragement to those who are in need both within and beyond our community of faith.
