THE HAITI PARTNERSHIP MINISTRY

The Haiti Partnership ministry involves a partnership with Westminster Presbyterian Church (WPC) and the Free Methodist Mission (FMM) of Haiti, under the leadership of the Haitian area pastors.

This partnership started in 1996 when WPC asked if they could help feed the children in the new school at Terre Blanche.  Many members of the congregation became involved at this time, although this was not an “official” ministry of WPC until 2001.

Terre Blanche is in the northern rural area of Haiti, where there is no electricity, potable water, and modern facilities.  Several members of the WPC Haiti leadership team have been going to this area for over 20 years.  We believe that special attention is necessary in the planning of these teams.  Our prayer is that other churches will join the Lord in His work, remembering, God has commanded us to “Make disciples of all nations,” and He has given us the power through the Holy Spirit to be His witnesses locally, to Haiti, and “to the ends of the earth.” (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8)

The goals of this ministry are to:

• Assist in alleviating suffering (physical, emotional and spiritual), support education, and contribute to the health and micro-economic development of Terre Blanche and other communities in Haiti.
• Encourage the Haitian church in growing, maturing and spreading the Gospel of Christ throughout the nation.
• Model a servant ministry for Westminster Presbyterian Church and for partner churches.

 This work provides ministry in the areas of:

• Medical/Dental care
• Public health incorporating basic hygiene and preventive medicine
• Feeding and education of school children
• Economic development which includes a women’s trade school
• Bible school
• Construction of buildings
• Community outreach
• Relationship-building
